The William A. McLarty Payments Institute Scholarship

Southern Financial Exchange wants to fund your professional development! 

The William A. McLarty Payments Institute Scholarship was established to assist one Member in attending the 2025 Nacha Payments Institute®, an on-campus event scheduled for July 13 - 16, 2025, in Atlanta, GA. 

William A. (Bill) McLarty, Former Vice President, Trustmark National Bank, was a beloved member of the Southern Financial Exchange (SFE) team.  He served as board member and treasurer, and received the Payment Systems Excellence Award from SFE for Outstanding Achievement in the Payment Systems Industry. Bill's dedication and commitment to SFE will live on through the people he inspired to carry on the organization's mission, today. 

Payments industry experts will lead interactive and educational courses, equipping you with practical skills and real-world knowledge. Engage with fellow payments pros, take part in collaborative activities, and gather valuable insights that will set you apart from the competition. Whether you aspire to become an AAP, APRP or AFPP, or simply need continuing education credits to maintain your Nacha credentials, the Payments Institute is the place to be. Members Are Encouraged to Submit Nominations

One winner will receive a non-transferrable scholarship to attend the 2025 Nacha Payments Institute®,  totaling $2,535 towards registration fees and lodging.

Who is Eligible?

• Employment: The nominee must be employed by an SFE member company.
• Experience: The nominee must have worked a minimum of three years in the financial industry.
• Industry Focus: Primary consideration will be given to nominees in the payments industry.

What is Required?

• Submit the online Nomination Form using the button below for each nomination. (You may nominate yourself or someone else.)
• Submit Nominee's current professional resume’ via email to education@sfe.org.
• Nominations and documents must be received no later than Friday, May 30, 2025.

How is the Scholarship Winner Selected?

The SFE Executive Committee will review all nominations and select one scholarship winner. Announcement will be made Monday, June 30, 2025.
